The Financial Sector Deepening Mozambique – FSDMoç a program funded by the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID) and the Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation (SIDA), supports the development of the financial sector with a focus on financial inclusion.
FSDMoç has partnered with the Mozambique Insurance Supervisory Institute (ISSM) to promote the development of a comprehensive and sustainable micro insurance ecosystem in Mozambique. The content of this partnership is in line with discussions on the challenges surrounding the implementation of micro insurance in Mozambique during the Workshop on Micro insurance, co-organized by ISSM, Mozambican Association of Insurance Companies (AMS) and the World Bank, in July 27, 2017.
This partnership was formalized through the signing of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the FSDMoç and ISSM on 7 November 2017. The MoU covers three main elements: drawing up a Roadmap, for the development of a comprehensive and sustainable micro insurance ecosystem, training for insurance service providers and technical assistance to the ISSM in the development and implementation of a micro insurance strategy.
FSDMoç and ISSM are now seeking professional assistance to be deployed at ISSM, toward the implementation of roadmap for the development of a broad and sustainable micro-insurance ecosystem in Mozambique.
