Mozambique as a country joined the Global Money Week (GMW) celebrations in 2014 and this is the second year that FSDMoç has been engaged and supporting the leading partner – Central Bank – towards the same goal of raising awareness about financial education and inclusion for youth. These year theme was “Money Matters Matter”. The celebration activities took place between 12th and 18th March 2018 and various activities across de country took place and financial education sessions were delivered to youth in secondary schools, targeting students at ages between 13 – 18 years old.
FSDMoç, supported the development of digital financial education Quiz (Application Game) administrated after the education session to test the knowlege of the students after the financial education session. In total nearly 600 students were rich with financial literacy from different schools in Maputo Province.
In addtion this year FSDMoç brought to the event an innovation the “Community T@ABLET” platform developed by a Mozambican technology start-up company called Kamaleon, this is a “innovative and engaging way of bringing the rural community together to access the Internet through a platform – said Dayn Amada, founder of Kamaleon.” The platform is based on a mobile computer with touch screen display, power by solar panel and can be used as broad campaign with interactive lessons and provides an opportunity to test the capabilities of students in certain thematic areas delivered to rural community using digital literacy.
